AMIBIOS
Flash Instructions for Endeavor Plus and Aviant Series SBC's with Flash ROM
Support.
It is recommended that you record your
current BIOS configuration prior to performing a BIOS
reflash. All settings will be lost as
a result of the reflash procedure.
To upgrade the system BIOS, perform the following procedures:
1. Obtain the AMI ROM file and Flash8XX.exe
flash utility and copy it to a DOS
formatted floppy.
2. If your computer is running Windows NT,
Windows 2000 or any of the UNIX varieties, you must
shut down your O/S and boot your system to
DOS. If your computer is running DOS/Win3.X or
Win95/98 you need only exit to a DOS prompt.
3. Place the floppy disk containing the ROM file and flash utility in the A: drive
4. At the A: drive DOS prompt run the DIR
command and write down the name of the
ROM file (e.g. xxxx_xx.rom)
5. At the A: drive DOS prompt type: Flash822 <enter> this will launch the AMI flash utility.
6. Once the graphical interface is loaded,
press ALT+F (for FILE command). This will highlight a text
field on the left side of the graphical
interface.
7. Type the path and name of the ROM file you wish to load (e.g. A:\xxxx_xxx.rom) and press <enter>.
8. This will start the reflash. You will be prompted to confirm your desire to reflash the BIOS.
9. Once the reflash is completed, you will
need to reboot the system. Once the reboot starts, you
can confirm the success of the reflash by
verifying that the BIOS banner (located at the top of the
screen when video comes up) indicates the file
name you entered in the flash utility.
10. Enter BIOS SETUP and configure.
11. Save BIOS settings and exit. Your system will reboot and should come up normally.
